Boom Lift and Scissor Lift Training – Beginner (Construction)

This training is designed for construction workers who have never taken a training course, as well as new operators, in accordance with the Safety Code for the Construction Industry (CSTC).
 
 

Objectives

  • Develop safe work practices.
  • Build skills for inspecting and operating a boom lift and a scissor lift.
  • Understand the causes of accidents and how to prevent them.

 

Content

Compliant with the Safety Code for the Construction Industry (CSTC)

  • Identify the operator’s responsibilities.
  • Detect potential hazards in the work environment.
  • Inspect equipment according to manufacturer standards.
  • Operate equipment following safety rules and best practices.
  • Evaluate the worker’s knowledge both theoretically and practically, including a minimum of one hour of hands-on operation per equipment (2.15.17.1).

2.15.17.1: Safety Code for the Construction Industry

 

  • Initial training for each type of equipment, with content equivalent to the Mobile Elevating Work Platforms – Operator (Driver) Training, CSA B354.8 standard.

  • The practical portion must include at least one hour of hands-on operation per worker for each type of equipment.
