How to Read Your Simplex Invoice, Contract or Quote

With the arrival of our new computer system, our documents have been updated. Whether you’re a professional customer or an individual, this guide explains how to read your Simplex documents - contract, invoice or quote - clearly and confidently. Because we know administrative tasks aren’t what you enjoy most, we’ve designed documents that are clearer, easier to read and, above all, simpler to understand. Let us guide you through them.

1. Branch information and Simplex references

Located in the top left corner, this section includes information related to the branch that served you and to the document itself. You’ll find:

  • the branch contact details (address, phone number, etc.);
  • the name of the Simplex representative who assisted you;
  • Simplex references related to the document;
  • key dates, including rental and/or billing periods, depending on the document type.

Why it matters

This is the section to check if you need to quickly identify who assisted you, confirm a rental period or contact the right branch for follow-up.

2. Document type and customer information

Located in the top right corner, this section helps you quickly identify the document and find all the information related to your file. It includes:

  • the document type (invoice, contract or quote);
  • the reference number, useful for follow-ups;
  • your name or company name;
  • the project address;
  • the contact details of the person who made the request;
  • purchase order, project or requisition numbers, when applicable.

Why it matters

These details help simplify your administrative management and ensure smooth communication between your team and ours.

3. The main table: products and services, line by line

This is the core of the document. Each line represents an item rented or a service provided.

You’ll find:

  • the product code;
  • the item description;
  • quantities rented per day, week or month;
  • unit prices;
  • estimated or actual amounts, depending on the document type.

What this gives you

A clear overview of what was rented, for how long and at what cost—so everything is easy to understand at a glance.

4. Bottom of the page: important messages, totals and taxes

The bottom section of the document includes key information to review before payment or filing.

You’ll find:

  • important messages, such as current promotions or standard rental period details;
  • information related to interest charges, applicable fees and tax numbers;
  • a clear summary of amounts, including the subtotal, taxes (GST and QST), and the estimated or final total.

A good habit

Make a habit of reviewing this section carefully - it often contains information that can impact your billing.

Some documents, such as contracts or quotes, are not final invoices. This will be clearly indicated at the bottom of the document.

Where to find your Simplex invoices

All your invoices can be viewed and downloaded directly from your Simplex customer portal, in the Billing section.

From this section, you can:

  • view your current and past invoices;
  • download invoices in digital format;
  • easily retrieve an older invoice, all in one place.

Simple, centralized access

The Billing section of your customer portal gives you a clear record of your documents, available whenever you need them. A real time-saver for both professional and individual customers.

If you have any questions or need help accessing your customer portal, our team is here to help.

In summary

Your Simplex documents are designed to be more transparent, easier to read and better suited to your needs. And if you ever have a question, our team is always ready to assist.

At Simplex, we want managing your documents to be as simple as running your job site.

It’s that simple.
